Print of Mal de Amores by Julio Romero de Torres

The original of Mal de Amores (Love Sickness) is an oil painting by Spanish artist Julio Romero de Torres. Painted around 1905, it was in the painter's possession until his death in 1930. In 1989, the canvas was acquired by the Junta de Andalucía together with the rest of the Romero de Torres Collection, and this collection was delivered in 1991 to the Museum of Fine Arts of Córdoba, where it is currently preserved. The painting shows three women of different ages; a woman, a girl and an old woman, for whom the painter used his wife, his niece and her maid as a model. The scene is located at the entrance to the courtyard of the painter's house. This print of the painting was double mounted with Artcare mountboard and framed with a moulding from Nielsen Bainbridge's Home range.
